Zonal commander of CPI (Maoist) arrested in Lakhisarai
Lakhisarai, May 30 (UNI) A self-proclaimed zonal commander of the proscribed CPI (Maoist) Sunil Marandi alias Badka Sunil was arrested along with five of his accomplices near Ambedkar chowk under Sadar police station in the district last night.
Sunil was wanted since long in connection with several disruptive activities, carried out by the Naxalites in Bihar and Jharkhand.
Police said today during routine search of vehicles, six people were arrested and later identified as the comrades of the CPI (Maoist).
''During preliminary interrogation, Sunil was trying his best to hide his identities but he later accepted his association with the proscribed organisation,'' police said, adding he was responsible for the distruptive activities in Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal.
Sunil was trying to sneak from Bihar after undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Patna for the injuries sustained during an encounter with police at Dumka in Jharkhand.
