Tremors felt in Aandhra Pradesh district

Visakhapatnam, May 30: Several rural mandals in the South West of this district experienced tremors of magnitude 3.7 on the richter scale last evening, the Cyclone Warning Centre (CWC) said today.

According to reports reaching here, residents of Narsipatnam felt the tremors for three seconds and rushed out of their houses in panic as utensils fell off the shelves.

The rural mandals of Makavaripalem, Kotauratla, Natavaram, Anakapalli, Paderu, Chodavaram, Kothakota, Kasmikota, Eleamachili, Butchiahpeta, Madugula and Ravikamatham also experienced the termors. A few children received minor injuries in the process.

The tremors were at 1650 hrs.

The CWC, in a special bulletin issued here said there was no loss of life or any major damage to property.
