PPP-PML-N are partners in journey towards Pak democracy: Zardari

Islamabad, May 30 : The co-chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party, Asif Ali Zardari, has said that his party and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz were partners in the journey of democracy, and added that the PPP believed in the dialogue process, while PML-N's stance bordered on impatience.

Addressing a meeting of Socialist International Asia Pacific Committee here today, Zardari said only democracy would have a role to play in the future and Pakistan was standing at its crossroads.

He claimed that his late wife and former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto had played pivotal role in upholding democratic values, and therefore, democracy was the PPP's ideological base.

The News quoted Zardari as further saying that the PPP and the PML-N were partners in strengthening democracy in Pakistan.

Zardari said he had held talks with PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif and both parties were united for the cause of democracy.

Information and Broadcasting MInister Sherry Rehman, Federal Ministers Raja Pervez Ashraf, Syed Naveed Qamar and others were also present on the occasion.
