One militant arrested in north Kashmir
Srinagar, May 30: Security forces arrested a militant from a hideout along with arms and ammunition in north Kashmir district of Baramulla, a defence spokesman said.
He said troops of 22 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Task Force (STF) of Jammu and Kashmir police launched a joint operation at village Warpora, six km from Sopore, this morning following a tip-off about militant hideout.
During the operation, the hideout was unearthed and one militant identified as Faiz Ahmad War alias Faiz Kangru was arrested.
Later, one AK rifle, four magazines, 120 rounds of ammunition, one pistol, one hand grenade and two pouches were recovered from the hideout.
He said the militant was later handed over to police for further interrogation.
