Srinagar, May 30 (UNI) Rajinder Prasad struck a brace as Karnataka thrashed Uttar Pradesh 3-0 in their last league match to enter the pre-quarter finals of the 62nd National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy here today.
Playing like a well oiled machine, Karnataka attacked the rival defence from the word go.
In the 30th minute, Rajinder Prasad scored the first goal for Karnataka, while Pradeep consolidated the lead in the 40th minute.
Karnataka completed the tally early in the second half when Rajinder Prasad converted a penalty.
Uttar Pradesh received several chances to score but they failed to beat the Karnataka goalkeeper.
