Bhopal, May 30 (UNI) Amid massive raids by the Income Tax (IT) Department today, Madhya Pradesh Secretary (Home) Rajesh Rajora tendered his resignation to the Chief Secretary.

Mr Rajora's resignation letter said he was ''hurt'' by the raids at his residence and other locations, that also sullied his image.

The bureaucrat wrote that even his wife was a civil servant and over the past one-and-a-half decades he obtained property through legal means.

IT sleuths, this morning raided about three dozen premises of about 20 people including Mr Rajora, Director (Health) Ashok Sharma, a retired bureaucrat, a senior officer, Mr Abhay Vishnoi -- who is posted at the state Small Industries Corporation's Jabalpur office -- and some builders.

IT sources said the raids took place at Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and Mumbai.
