Hovercraft gets stuck at Rameswaram, defect rectified
Chennai, May 30 (UNI) A Coast Guard Hovercraft, with ten people on board, which came here for AC repairs, developed a minor defect in its rubber skirt and got stuck at Kalpakkam, about 70 km here.
The hovercraft, which came here two weeks ago for AC repairs, was being sent back to Mandapam near Rameswaram, when the defect occurred.
Coast Guard sources said that there was a minor defect in the rubber skirts of the hovercraft while it was crossing Kalpakkam today.
On information, Coast Guard engineers rushed to the spot and rectified the defect. ''It will leave for Mandapam either tonight or tomorrow morning'', the sources said.
''It's a very minor thing'', the sources added.
