Kohima, May 30 (UNI) The Democratic Alliance of Nagaland(DAN) Government in Nagaland is a neutral Government and is not in favour of any particular party or underground faction, said Nagaland Peoples' Front(NPF) Party Press Secretary Shilumar Ao.
Refuting allegations by "Government of Peoples Republic of Nagaland" (GPRN/NSCN) against the DAN Government of favouring a particular underground organisations, Mr Ao said that deployment of police forces was only meant to provide security of life and property to citizens and not protect or shield any group or faction.
He said that time and again the DAN Government made it clear that it was working for the lasting peace, understanding and reconciliation of the Naga society.
Mr Ao reminded that the State Cabinet, the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) and Sub-Committee Publicity had announced the support to the Reconciliation Forum(RF), which was formed by the Church and civil societies.
The NPF, in a release, also stated that the state government had made a number of appeals through various forums to stop senseless fratricidal killings.
He also pointed out that the killing of an Indian Reserve Battalion(IRB) jawan in Dimapur by the cadres of militant outfits, had been severely condemned by the DAN Government and the State Cabinet and the Government had not remained a mute spectator in providing security and safety to the citizens and is duty bound to do so.
While calling upon various grounds to commit themselves to understanding and reconciliation so that all section can work together for peace, which is the cry of the people and any group which claims to represent the people must listen to the peoples cry, the release added.
