Cong responsible to protect, unite UDF allies: Chennithala
Thiruvananthapuram, May 30 (UNI) Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Ramesh Chennithala today said it was the Congress party's responsibility to protect and unite the allies of the United Democratic Front (UDF).
Talking to newspersons after a high-level leadership meeting here, he said the Congress would take all necessary measures to lead the UDF without inflicting any damage to the allies.
Refuting allegations that there were differences between the Congress and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), an ally of the Front, he said if there were any differences in the regional level, it would be sorted out through dialogues.
However, he admitted that there were some disputes between IUML leaders and senior Congress leader Aryadan Mohammad, MLA, and added that a meeting would be convened soon to find a solution.
Meanwhile, the KPCC served a show cause notice on Aryadan Shoukath, son of Mr Mohammad, for his alleged comments against the family of IUML State President, Shihab Thangal.
