2 new thermal power units in Madhya Pradesh
Jabalpur, MP, May 30: In order to combat power crisis in Madhya Pradesh the construction of two new Satpura Thermal Power Plants Sarni of 250 MW capacity were underway.
Official sources said that Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company, which is endeavoring to set up units, had given the cheque of Rs 141.66 crore as first installment to Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited last month. As per the contract it would set up units within 35 to 39 months.
The Power Finance Corporation would provide the 80 per cent financial support for the project, worth Rs 2,637 cr, and the rest amount would be managed by the company and other financial resources.
