Srinagar, May 30: About 10 to 90 per cent fruit crops in 90 villages of north Kashmir district of Baramulla have been damaged due to recent hailstorm and strong winds.
Chief Horticulture Officer, Baramulla, said hailstorm has damaged fruit crop in the district.
About 90 villages have been affected, he said, adding the department has geared up its field functionaries to render technical guidance and expertise to the affected orchardists for minimising the damages.
For this purpose, he said, awareness camps were being organised throughout the district.
Meanwhile, the orchardists have been asked to spray Mycobutanil 10 per cent WP in the affected orchards to prevent fruit rot and Alternaria attack on perforated leaves, he said.
