New Delhi, May 29 (UNI) In continuation of the aggressive growth strategy planned for its business in India, Turner today announced the promotion of Siddharth Jain and Monica Tata.
Siddharth Jain has been promoted to Vice President and Deputy General Manager (Distribution and Business Operations) and assumes additional responsibilities to guide Turner channels into the digital era, with the explosion of DTH and other upcoming digital platforms.
Monica Tata has been promoted to Vice President and Deputy General Manager (Entertainment Networks) and will now drive all entertainment network initiatives and activities in South Asia.
Rohit Suri, another key member of Turner India's management team, has been elevated to the position of Executive Director (Human Resources) for Turner India, company sources said.
Announcing these key promotions, Anshuman Misra, Managing Director, Turner International India Pvt Ltd (TIIPL) said,''We strongly believe that growth comes from within and leadership is paramount to drive idea generation, ensure immaculate execution, and to nurture talent.'' In his new role as Vice President and Deputy General Manager (Distribution and Business Operations), South Asia, Siddharth Jain has been entrusted with guiding Turner's channels into the digital era.
Leveraging his in-depth industry knowledge and great market relationships, he will play a pivotal role in the launch of the two new channels this year, the Hindi general entertainment channel in joint venture with Alva Brothers, and the Hollywood movies and series channel in partnership with Warner Bros.
Siddharth will continue to drive and manage the distribution for Turner Networks.
Mr Jain has been with Turner since November 1998 and was instrumental in setting up the company's entire distribution network in India.
After successfully driving Turner's kids networks for two years and further consolidating the company's leadership position in the segment, Monica Tata has been elevated to the position Vice President and Deputy General Manager (Entertainment Networks), South Asia.
Expanding her portfolio, Monica is now responsible for steering all network initiatives and activities across Turner entertainment brands in South Asia.
This includes supervision and development of Turner's kids business (Cartoon Network, POGO, Sesame India, original productions, animated theatrical features), enhancing the English entertainment business (HBO and the Hollywood movies and series channel in partnership with Warner Bros), the development of the Hindi general entertainment channel in joint venture with Alva Brothers, and other new initiatives.
Supporting Monica and Siddharth in a very critical management position, Rohit Suri has been promoted to Executive Director (Human Resources). Rohit has been with Turner since May 2005 and has contributed significantly to Turner's HR activities and ongoing initiatives.
