Nine militants nabbed by police, troops
Imphal, May 29 (UNI) Nine cadres of different underground organisations were apprehended during the last 48 hours in separate incidents by troops and police.
The PRO of IGAR(S) said here today that troops of 34 Assam Rifles apprehended two Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) cadres and handed them over to Thoubal police yesterday. A scooter and a mobile handset were seized from their possession.
In another incident, two cadres of United National Liberation Front (UNLF) were apprehended by troops of 21 AR at Thoubal district.
A cadre of People's Liberation Army (PLA) was also nabbed yesterday, the PRO said.
In yet another incident, two cadres of the United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) were nabbed, SP, Thoubal, Clay Khongsai said.
Senior SP(IW) L Kailun said two militants were also nabbed in two separate incidents during the last 48 hours.
Meanwhile, the United National Liberation Front (UNLF) offered ''revolutionary salute'' to one of its cadres who was allegedly killed on May 27 in a mine blast at Chandel district.
The UNLF alleged that so far ten cadres have been killed in the landmine traps laid by the security forces.
