Godrej Industries FY08 net up 39.4 pc

New Delhi, May 29: Godrej Industries Ltd today said its net profit for the year ended March 2008 increased 39.4 per cent to Rs 108.81 crore as compared to Rs 78.06 crore for last fiscal.

The company said in a statement that its total income for FY08 jumped eight per cent to Rs 787.97 crore whereas it was Rs 729.58 crore during FY07. The Group's net profit for the year ended March 2008 increased nearly 185 per cent to Rs 167.82 crore as against Rs 58.89 crore for the year ended March 2007. Its FY08 total income grew 24.6 per cent to Rs 3,005.78 crore from Rs 2,412.37 crore last fiscal.

Godrej Industries' Board of Directors has also recommended a final dividend of Rs 1.25 per share, that is 125 per cent on the face value of Re one each, the payment of which shall be made subject to shareholder's approval.
