CM greets people on Goa Statehood Day
Panaji, May 29 (UNI) Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat has extended warm greeting to the people of the state, on the occasion of Goa Statehood Day tomorrow.
Mr Kamat in his message, said '30th May assumes great significance as it was on this day in the year 1987 that Goa attained full fledged statehood. This historic day is an appropriate occasion for the people to rededicate themselves and take this tiny state of the country further on the path of progress and prosperity, the Chief Minister said.
He said the state has made spectacular progress in almost all areas of human endeavour after its liberation and particularly after it attained statehood.
The state government is committed to improve the quality of the life of the people and accelerate the pace of development, Mr Kamat said.
The Chief Minister has also appealed to the people of Goa to extend their whole-hearted support and co-operation to the government in achieving further socio-economic development.
