Case against AP CM for electoral violation in 10 poll-bound dists
Hyderabad, May 29 (UNI) In a signification development, cases were registered against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and five television channels in all the ten districts where byelections were held today, for alleged violation of the poll code on a directive from the Election Commission.
''The Election Commission is of the view that the Chief Minister had made a very good description of a number of developmental projects, welfare schemes and programmes taken up by his government through the electronic media. This can influence the voters in the ten districts, as it was a day ahead of the bypolls'', State Chief Electoral Officer I V Subba Rao told a press conference here tonight.
As directed by the EC, the Collectors of the ten districts where byelections were held today, registered cases aganist the Chief Minister and five television channels which telecast his press conference live.
