TN, K'taka should hold talks on Hogenakkal project: BJP
Chennai, May 28 (UNI) State BJP President L Ganesan today reiterated that the Tamil Nadu and Karnataka Governments should hold talks to sort out differences over the Hogenakkal Drinking Water Project.
Talking to newspersons here, he said since the dam site was within the Tamil Nadu border, the state government should go ahead with the project.
He also urged the Centre to clarify its stand on the matter relating to the ''purchase of weapons by Sri Lanka from Pakistan.'' Mr Ganesan pointed out that the Centre had granted 100 million dollars aid to Sri Lanka on May 5.
However, the Sri Lankan Government had purchased weapons on the next day itself, he claimed.
The Tamil Nadu unit of the BJP would hold demonstrations throughout the state from June 1 to June 7 against price hike of essential commodities, he added.
