Rain delays start of match between Indians and Royal Challengers

Bangalore, May 28 (UNI) The DLF-Indian Premier League match between Mumbai Indians and Bangalore Royal Challengers at the M A Chinnaswamy stadium here today was delayed by at least one hour due to a persistent drizzle.

The wicket was covered under gloomy conditions accompanied by the intermittent drizzle.

Match officials said an inspection would be made at 1700 hrs and then the time of the start of the match would be decided.

This is the final league match for the two teams who are out of contention for a semi-final berth. While Indians have 12 points from 13 matches, Royals have only eight from an equal number of matches.

Mumbai Indians: Sachin Tendulkar (Capt.), Sanath Jayasuriya, Dominic Thornely, Robin Uthappa, Abhishek Nayar, Shaun Pollock, Dilhara Fernando, Yogesh Takawale, Dhaval Kulkarni, Rohan Raje, Ashish Nehra, Andre Nel, Dwayne Smith, Rajesh Pawar and Saurabh Tiwary.
