Pak spy gets lifer in MP
Gwalior, May 28 (UNI) A local court today sentenced a Pakistani citizen to life imprisonment for espionage on military areas.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Meena Singh awarded the punishment to Abbas Ali for spying on the Air Force Station, Gwalior and other military areas. Locals Amin Khan and Mohammad Shahid, who aided Ali, were sentenced to two years in jail and fines of Rs 1,000 each.
Prosecution said that, on an Intelligence Bureau tip-off, police raided -- on March 3, 2006 -- a residence in the local Inderganj Police Station limits and arrested three persons. Documents seized confirmed that the trio passed on secret military information to Pakistan.
