No proper respect for retired soldiers: veteran
Bhopal, May 28 (UNI) Major-General (Retd) S R Sinho today emphasised the need for uniting ex-soldiers to fight for their rights as their value declined when they retired and they had to struggle for trivial things.
Addressing the District Sainik Welfare Board's 63rd Raising Celebrations Day as chief guest, Maj-Gen Sinho said here that soldiers were accoladed when they fought and acted as a wall for the country's defense but their eminence reduced after retirement. ''Hence, we shall come forward unitedly to resolve our problems,'' he said.
Earlier, he distributed scholarship to the children of 20 ex-servicemen. Sixty-three scholarships had to be distributed but some former personnel and their families did not turn up at the function.
Wing Commander (Retd) B K Rai also addressed the programme.
