National Inter-School Rowing championship begins on June 31

Kolkata, May 28 (UNI) About 350 rowers from some 32 schools will take part in the 36th national inter-school Rowing Championship to be held at Rabindra Sarobar from May 31 to June 7.

Four events, two each for senior boys and girls and junior boys and girls, will be held on 500-metre course, recognsied by Rowing Federation of India, under the auspices of Lake Club.

Lake Club president Arunava Mukherjee said the heats will commence from May 31 in morning and afternoon until June 6 and final is slated for June 7.

South Point, St Joseph and St Marry's school, Gokhale Memorial, Army Public School, Our Lady Queen of the Mission and Tirhapati Institution have already confirmed their participation.

However, participants from outstation schools were nil this time, owing to national junior champioship early next month.
