Minimum temperatures plummet in HP
Shimla, May 28 (UNI) Minimum temperatures across Himachal Pradesh plummeted, while the maximum temperatures rose marginally following another blue sky today.
The minimum temperature at Shimla town plummeted to 13.7 degrees Celsius and this the met office said was over two degrees below normal for this period of the year.
The night temperature at Sundernagar fell by over two and half degrees to 14, by two degrees to 13.4 at Bhuntar and by a degree to stand at 4.8 degrees at Kalpa in the tribal district of Kinnuar.
The met office said the night temperature at Una town fell to 15.5 as against 18.2 degrees recorded yesterday, while it fell by a few notches to 16.3 degrees in the famous tourist resort of Dharamshala.
However, the maximum temperature at Una town soared to 39.6 degrees, making it the hottest place in the state during the last 24 hrs.
Shimla town recorded a margin increase in the day temperature, which stood at 24.9, while Sundernagar, Bhuntar and Kalpa recorded maximum temperatures of 34, 31.8 and 20.9 degrees.
The sky was mainly clear over mid and lower hills, including Shimla, of the state and there was no report of rain from any part of the state.
The met office has forecast rain or thundershowers at isolated places in the state during the next 24 hrs.
