Kolkatans suffer uncomfortable humid day
Kolkata, May 28 (UNI) People in the city and its adjoining areas had to endure an uncomfortable day today with the mercury soaring and extreme humid conditions.
The Alipore Met department recorded the day's maximum temperature at 36.7 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal while the minimum was 27.7 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal.
Met officials forecast a few spells of rain or thunder showers over isolated parts of Gangetic and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal.
However, the officials predicted no respite for the state capital with little likelihood of rain during the next 24 hours and the maximum temperature hovering around 38 degrees Celsius.
