BJP demands action for Minister's alleged thrashing of party MLA
Patna, May 28 (UNI) Bihar BJP today took serious note of the alleged thrasing of party MLA Phalguni Yadav by state food and civil supply minister Narendra Singh and his MLA son at Baldhar village in Jamui district.
Demanding immediate action against the minister and his son Abhasy Singh, the party asked intervention of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar into the alleged incident.
State BJP vice-president Lal Babu Prasad and state secretary Anil Sharma in a joint statemenmt tonight said they were expecting that Mr Kumar would take action against his cabinet colleague and the JD(U) leader, who was allegedly involved in the "humiliation of BJP leader Phalguni Yadav, a legislator from Chakai".
They said the BJP would not tolerate such incident as it humiliated the party as Mr Yadav was a respected leader.
Meanwhile, party national general secretary Kiran Ghai described the incident as "unfortunate" and said such incidents should not be repeated as it was against the coalition "dharma" (rules).
She said the activists of both the allaince partners should strive to protect the dignity of their colleagues.
