Srinagar, May 28 (UNI) Urging Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to adopt flexible approach on Kashmir issue during his Pakistan visit, The National Conference (NC) patron Farooq Abdullah said peace would return to state only when this vexed issue is resolved.
He said Kashmiris will continue to suffer due to ongoing bloodshed till the time ''Kashmir issue is resolved amicably.'' Former Chief Minister said Dr Singh during his visit to Pakistan should adopt flexible approach so that the Kashmir issue is resolved once and for all.
Criticising the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad's 'bullet for bullet' statement, NC president Omar Abdullah said this statement can trigger more bloodshed in Kashmir and he(CM) should have talked of peace and development.
Addressing a public meeting in south Kashmir yesterday Dr Abdullah urged people to participate in ensuing elections in large numbers.
He alleged that during last six years of Cong-PDP rule, the problems of people have increased manifolds.
Dr Abdullah claimed that during NC government, 1.43 lakh jobs were provided to the unemployed youth but the PDP led government headed by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed sacked 24,000 employees when it came to power. Mr Omar announced, if the NC was voted to power, it would provide stipend to the unemployed youth till they get a job.
Indirectly referring to PDP he said the NC would fulfill all election promises when voted to power.
Those harping on demilitarisation issue have taken refuge in silence when more and more troops are being inducted into Jammu and Kashmir and are dotting every nook and corner of Kashmir.'' He alleged that Congress-PDP combine is an immoral coalition in which a number of ministers are involved in ''Sex Scandal'' but no action is taken against them. He said sex maniacs should be put behind bars and not allowed to roam free in public.
