TN CM indisposed, cancels engagements
Chennai, May 27 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi has cancelled all his official engagements till June two as he was suffering from throat infection.
The Chief Minister, reviewing the performances of various departments since last week, was to review the performance of Revenue Department this afternoon, but cancelled the meeting.
Doctors from the Apollo Hospital visited him at his Gopalapuram Residence and treated him. He was advised rest.
Following this, the Chief Minister, who is turning 85 on June three, cancelled all his official engagements till June two.
Meanwhile, official sources said Union Human Resources Minister Arjun Singh would call on Mr Karunanidhi at his Gopalapuram Residence at 1600 hrs tomorrow.
He would be meeting the DMK leader as an envoy of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, the sources added.
Mr Karunanidhi was admitted to the Sri Ramachandra Medical College Hospital for three days following neck and back pain and discharged on May 18.
