Signature campaign to continue
Visakhapatnam, May 27 (UNI) Former Andhra University Vice Chancellor and People For India Forum Chairperson K V Ramana today said the signature campaign demanding setting up of the world class Central University in in Visakhapatnam as firt proposed and not shift it to Kadapa. would be continued and more prominent citizens and people's organisations would sign the memorandum in the second phase.
The memorandum with signatures collected in the first phase of the agitation, was already faxed to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Forum Chairperson Ramana here, copies of the memorandum were also faxed to Union Human Resources Development minister Arjun Singh, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
The first memorandum was signed by prominent citizens of north coastal Andhra Pradesh, including various political parties like the Telugu Desam,CPI, CPI(N),BJP) and the district bar association president B V Ramanjaneya rao. The forum plans to mobilise the people of neighbouring districts of Vizianagaram, Srikakulam,East and West Godavari to achieve the objective and also oranise a Round Table Conference would be organised in Rajahmundry.
