Oil tanker operators go on strike over toll reimbursement
Rajkot, May 27 (UNI) About 60 oil tanker operators, ferrying petrol and diesel, went on strike here today over the issue of reimbursement of toll tax from the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).
According to spokesman of the tanker operators, the operators have stopped taking petrol and diesel from IOC Depot, as the officials of the IOC were lingering over issue of reimbursement due since last three years.
As per the provision, the IOC officials agreed to reimburse the toll tax money, but till date, the officials have not paid anything, he said.
However, the talks for a amicable solution are in progress between the tanker operators and IOC officials, the spokesman said.
Failure to reach a compromise, would effect the supply of petrol and diesel in the Saurashtra region.
