No red wheat to be distributed in MP from June
Bhopal, May 27 (UNI) Courtesy record wheat production in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said that ''inferior'' red wheat, imported by the Centre and supplied to the state under the Public Distribution System, would cease to be distributed at fair price shops from next month.
More than 20 lakh tonnes were purchased within the state at support price plus bonus, official sources said while adding that Mr Chouhan's announcement was made at a review meeting -- in Mantralaya -- of the Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana that envisages distribution of subsidised foodgrain to Below Poverty Line families.
