Lakhisarai, May 27: Proscribed CPI Maoists blew up a portion of the railway tracks at Masudan station under Kiul-Jamalpur section of Eastern Railway (ER) near here in early today, disrupting train services for several hours.
ER sources said the explosion took place at around 0200 hours, uprooting about one metre of the tracks and some concrete sleepers.
However, there was no report of any casualty.
A major accident was also averted as no train was to pass through the area after the explosion, the sources added.
Train services in the section resumed at around 0800 hrs after the repair of the damaged tracks, the sources informed.
The banned outfit had given a 'bandh' call in five districts of South Bihar, including Lakhisarai, to protest the arrest of Maoist guerrillas from Dakuli village in Jamui district.
