Srinagar, May 27 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir thrashed Daman and Diu 4-0 to give their Santosh Trophy campaigh a rousing start here today.

Bilal struck in the 42nd minute to grab the lead for the hosts.

Taufeeq struck in the 78th minute to increase the margin.

Six minutes later Zubair struck a sizzling shot from the 'D' which bulged the net with the rival goalkeeper remaining a mute spectator.

Rizwan hammered in the final nail in the coffin, as he scored a gem of a goal in the 86th minute.

In the second match of the day at the Polo Ground Himachal Pradesh (HP) beat Pudducherry 3-2, after a goal-less first half.

Vivak Sharma opened the scoring for HP in the 24th minute and Ajay Rana struck twice in 43th and 48th minute of the second half.

Jaya Selvan and Karunanidhi scored for Pudducherry.

In another encounter, Meghalaya defeated Uttrakhand by three goals to one in a tight clash.

Bans Raj scored twice in the 3rd and 43rd minute of the first half while Murli Kumar added to the tally in the 28th minute.

Nitin Kumar scored for Uttrakhand.
