6 bookies held for betting on IPL matches, granted bail
Mumbai, May 27 (UNI) A local court today granted bail to six bookies, who were allegedly involved in betting on IPL matches last night.
Metropolitan Court Magistrate Sawant Vaghule, while granting bail to Rajendar Kaul, Mohammed Memon, Raju Tanshka, Dinesh Verma, Ashok Arli and Ramesh T, directed them to furnish surety of Rs 15,000 each and also attend the crime branch office daily till further orders.
The bookies were arrested by crime branch CID unit-1 last night from Andheri here, while they were accepting bets on the crucial match between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals, played yesterday in Jaipur.
Police also seized nine mobile phones, note books, a television set and some cash during the raid.
