Jaipur, May 26 (UNI) Rajasthan Health Minister Narpat Singh Rajvi today said several of the victims of violence during the Gujjar agitation in Pillukapura and Sikandara were hit by bullets fired by miscreants within the mob.
Talking to reporters at a press conference Mr Rajvi said that medical investigation of the deceased and injured at the SMS hospital here had revealed that 13 of the 25 injured had sustained pellet injuries fired from country-made weapons.
He said that wounds in the back of most of the injured had also revealed that miscreants within the mob had fired at the crowd while people were at a run after opening of police firing.
Industries Minister Digambar Singh and Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria who were also present at the press conference said several criminal elements had also intruded into the Gujjar agitation and the nature of wounds and injuries had confirmed the fact.
Mr Singh said the protesters were holding the bodies at dharna site only in a bid to delay the post-mortem so that the nature and cause of injury could not be ascertained in a conclusive manner.
