Silver, gold open low: BBA
Mumbai, May 26: Value of spot silver and gold today opened low from their last close on sustained offers by stockists in view of bearish advices from global markets, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association (BBA) said. Silver today opened low at Rs 24,965 per kg, with a loss of Rs five, on thin demand, while gold opened low at Rs 12,840 per ten gm, with a loss of Rs 20.
In the London and Asian markets, gold was quoted low in a range of USD 926.50/927.10 per troy ounce and silver touched a low at USD 18.22/18.25 per troy ounce from their last finish, traders added. Following were the opening spot rates: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade: Rs 24,965 Gold (per 10 gm): 99.5 purity standard mint: Rs 12,780 99.9 purity pure gold: Rs 12,840.
