Poppy over 20 kanals of land destroyed in Kashmir
Srinagar May 26 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir police have destroyed poppy crops worth over 20 kanals of land in south Kashmir as part of its anati-narcotics drive.
Official sources said today that acting on a tip-off, a special police party raided four villages--Lerv, Okey, Honad Chellan and Punipora-- in Kulgam.
During the raid, police destroyed poppy crops and registered cases against owners of the land.
Police has so far destroyed poppy and other banned crops over thousands of kanals of land in south Kashmir districts during the past one month.
