One EFR jawan killed and two injured in Maoist attack
Midnapore, May 26 (UNI) One Eastern Frontier Rifles (EFR) jawan was killed and two, including an Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police, were seriously injured, in Maoist attack at Dubrajpur block under Jhargram Police Station in West Midnapore district tonight.
Superintendent of Police R Rajshekharan said some masked motorcycle-borne Maoists fired bullets on the patrolling EFR and police personnel, killing one EFR jawan on the spot and critically injuring two.
The two injured - an EFR jawan and ASI of Police - were rushed to Jhargram hospital in a critical condition, but later they were shifted to SSKM hospital in Kolkata as their condition further deteriorated, he added.
The Maoists also decamped with three rifles of the jawans, Mr Rajshekharan informed.
A massive manhunt had been launched to nab the killers.
