No headway in Budhia coach murder case: DIP

Bhubaneswar, May 26 (UNI) Deputy Commissioner of Police Himansu Lal today said the investigation into the murder of Biranchi Das, the coach of marathon wonder kid Budhia could not make much headway as some people were trying to divert the investigation.

''It is beyond doubt that some people are trying to disrupt the investigation and divert the police attention'', the DCP told newspersons here.

Mr Lal said the throwing of bombs into the Jharpada jail premises where some hard core criminals including Raja Acharya, the prime accused in Coach Biranchi Dash murder case, were housed and Bhubaneswar Club premises during the last couple of days were meant to divert the police attention.

But Police, he said had been inquiring into all aspects of the case and hoped to crack the murder case soon.

Biranchi Das was shot dead on April 13 last allegedly by Raja Achary. Though the exact motive of the murder was not yet known police were looking into various angles including a love affair with a girl, railway scrap deal and land deal as possible reason for the incident.

Meanwhile, police today arrested Naili, mother of Raja and one Jubilee Sunder Ray and forwarded them to court after counter complaints were made both against Nalini and Jubili.

While Jubili in an FIR alleged that Nalini had warned him of dire consequences if all cases filed against Raja were not withdrawn, Raja's sister-in-law had made a complaint against Jubuli.

Nalini and Jubli were later granted bail by the local court.
