Central assistance to AP, Arunachal under IAY

New Delhi, May 26 (UNI) The Ministry of Rural Development has sanctioned Rs 159.81523 crore to Andhra Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh under the Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) during the current financial year.

The central Assistance amounting to Rs 156.22175 has been granted to 20 districts of Andhra Pradesh as balance of the first instalment for the implementation of Indira Awas Yojana for the year 2008-09.

It has also sanctioned Rs 89,13,700.00 as balance of the first instalment of central assistance for implementation of the Indira Awas Yojana to 2 DRDAs of Changlang, Kameng West of Arunachal Pradesh for the year 2008-2009.

Moreover, Rs 2,70,21,100 have been allocated as part of the first instalment of Central Assistance for implementation of Indira Awas Yojana to 11 DRDAs Changlang, Dibang Valley, Kameng East, Kameng West, Kurung Kumey, Lohit, Papumpare, Siang West, Subansiri Upper, Tawang and Tirap of Arunachal Pradesh for the year 2008-2009.

The grant is towards the plan expenditure and will be utilized for construction of new houses/up-gradation subject to the conditions laid down in the guidelines of Indira Awas Yojana (IAY).

No deviation from the provisions of the guidelines is permissible.

The expenditure on the implementation of the programme is to be shared on 75:25 basis between the Centre and the State respectively.

Only one saving bank account should be operated under IAY. The State Government should release its share within one month of the date of release of the Central assistance.
