By Staff

Mitchellville, Maryland, May 26 (UNI) Arjun Atwal carded a two-under 70 to produce his best round of the week to finish tied 25th at the Melwood Prince George's County Open here and kept up his bid for a PGA card next season.

Atwal finished with a total of four-under 284 and the 25th place saw him move one place up on the Nationwide Money List into 13th place, up from 14th last week.

The ace Indian golfer shot six birdies, but he also gave away four bogeys in his 70 and finished four-under 284 yesterday.

He then birdied fourth and sixth, but a dropped shot on seventh kept him at one-under at the turn.

A birdie on 10th was nullified by a bogey on 12th, but again Atwal fought back with birdies on 13th and 14th.

However, he again squandered the cance with bogeys on 15th and 16th and ended the day with a birdie at 17th.

Jeff Klauk, who was among the frontrunners through the week sank a crucial 12-foot birdie to win the title and helped himself to move into the second spot on the Nationwide Money List, from where the top-25 will earn full playing rights for the 2009 season.

Klauk finished the final round with a 3-under-par 69 to take his total score to 12-under 276.
