Darbhanga, May 25 (UNI) Officers and employees of the Regional Rural Banks(RRBs) across the country will go on a three-day nationwide strike from June 16 at the call of the All India Rural Bank Officers Federation in support of their charter of demands.
General secretary of the federation D N Trivedi told newsmen here that they were demanding pay parity with the employees and officers of commercial Banks since long but the government had not taken the pain to initiate any action in fulfilment of their demands.
''Payscale and pension facilities for the commercial Banks' personnel were far better than their counterparts in RRBs,'' he said adding the government had not removed the anomalies in this regard despite their requests on several occasions.
Mr Trivedi said the federation had no option but to give a call for nationwide strike to force the government for consideration of their demands.
Prior to the nationwide agitation begining on June 16, personnel of RRBs would stage dharnas before the regional head offices in their respective areas across the country on June 7 and June 14 respectively.
