Kumarantunga calls on Azad
Srinagar, May 25 (UNI) Former Sri Lankan President Chandrika Kumaratunga called on Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad at his residence here today.
Ms Kumaratunga arrived here to participate in a function to launch the Institute of Kashmir Studies at University of Kashmir by President, Pratibha Devisingh Patil tomorrow.
Azad and Kumaratunga had a brief meeting before leaving for dinner hosted by Governor Lt. Gen (Retd) S K Sinha in honour of President Patil who is currently on a five-day visit to the State.
Mrs Shamim Azad, wife of the Chief Minister, presented a Kashmiri shawl to the visiting dignitary.
