Mumbai, May 25 (UNI) Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray has described Shiv Sena candidate Anand Paranjpe's victory in the Thane Lok Sabha by-election as ''a victory of the common man''.
Talking to reporters at the Shiv Sena office here, Mr Thackeray said this was a vote against ''goondaism and terrorism''. But, Mr Thackeray did not mention names.
Sanjeev Naik, son of former Shiv Sena strongman and now NCP minister Ganesh Naik, was pitted against Mr Paranjpe in the by-election. There were in all, 16 contestants in the fray.
