Lahore, May 25 : Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said on Sunday that he respects President Musharraf and the government did not want a clash with the presidency

Talking to journalists at State Guest House here, Gilani said the government's constitutional package is aimed at bringing a balance of power among different institutions of the state.

Gilani said that the Pakistan People's Party believed in a parliamentary system of government.

"After several amendments, the Constitution neither remains presidential nor parliamentary and the Constitutional package is aimed at getting rid of that imbalance," Gilani added.

He said the draft of the Constitutional package would be sent to the allied parties. He vowed restoration of the 1973 Constitution as promised by the PPP with the people.

He also stressed the need of negotiations for resolving the issue of Balochistan, saying that force alone cannot resolve the problem.

Co-chairman Pakistan People's Party Asif Ali Zardari would soon call an All Parties Conference over Balochistan, he added.
