Disruption in train services ruins several BPSC examinees' future
Samastipur, May 25 (UNI) Several aspirants of Bihar Public Service Commission(BPSC) failed to appear in the exmaination in north Bihar today due to protests by daily commuters' association, who disrupted train services at Mohiuudin Nagar Railway station under Samastipur division of East Central Railway.
Railway sources here said the protestors, under the banner of daily commuters' associationm, led by Kisan cell president of state LJP Rana Gangeshwar Singh, blocked the railway tracks at Mohiuddin Nagar from morning till 1200 hrs, affecting movement of several trains on the route, including 3105 Up Balia-Sealdah Express, 3106 Dn Balia-Sealdah Express, 5279 Up Purva Express, 5280 Dn Purva Express, 5209 Up Janseva Express and 509 Jajipur-Katihar passenger train.
Hundreds of BPSC examinee could not reach their examination centres at various places in Samastipur and adjoining areas due to disruption of train services by the agitators,'' sources added. The aspirants along with their co-passengers were stranded at different places as the trains they were on were stranded at different places under the division.
The blockade was later lifted after the senior officers of the Eastern Railway reached the spot and assured the protestors to consider their genuine demands.
It may be recalled that the todays examination of the BPSC was crucial as the commission had organised the competitive examinations to clear the backlog of the past five years. The demands of the agitating commuters wre assured to be fulfilled but they got it at the cost of the future of several BPSC aspirants.
