BJP candidate takes unassailable lead in HP

Shimla, May 25: The BJP today established an unassailable lead of over 80,000 votes over the Congress candidate in the Hamirpur parliamentary bypolls held on Thursday.

BJP's Anurag Thakur, son of HP Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, was leading by over 75,000 votes alone in the five assembly constituencies of Hamirpur district and was leading in another five seats in Una district. Trends for Bilaspur and Dehra sub division in Kangra district were yet to come in.

Official sources said Mr Thakur was leading by 19,069 votes from his father's assembly constituency of Bamsan after fourth round of counting.
