Woodmore, US, May 25 (UNI) Arjun Atwal climbed to tied 30th as he carded a second successive 71 round on the penultimate day of the Melwood Prince George's County Open on the Nationwide Tour here.

The Orlando-based Indian started impressively and was two-under by the time he approached the ninth hole, which eventually cost him a shot.

His dramatic back nine got off to a birdie-double bogey-birdie start while he conceded another shot on the 16th as well.

But the Indian signed off well with a birdie to salvage a sub-par card that took his three-day tally to two-under 214.

At the top of the leaderboard, there was the quartet of David Mathis (66), Chad Ginn (72), Matt Weibring (71) and Jeff Klauk (73) sharing the pole position at nine-under 207.
