SP no more a 'public interest party': Naresh

Lucknow, May 24 (UNI) Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal, who resigned from the party and legislative assembly this morning, today said the party has no room for political people and is busy providing dais to the film stars and corporate personalities.

Mr Agarwal today shot off a letter to party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, saying the party is continuously moving away from its prime objective and is no more working in the interests of general public.

Mr Agarwal said the party, at present, is busy inducting popular personalities of silver screen and corporate world and no more needs social and political people.

He also showed a copy of a letter to mediapersons in a press confrence here.

It was noted that party general secretary Amar Singh had a good nexus with the big shots of corporate world and people of film fraternity.

The Bachchan family, including, Amitabh, Jaya, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek, were seen with Mr Amar Singh quite a number of times.

Besides, veteran actress Jaya Prada and Bachchans were also seen in party campaign and other promotional works.
