Kolkata, May 24 (UNI) After exactly five weeks of IPL extravaganza, curtains are being drawn on the Kolkata chapter as a relegated Kolkata Knight Riders face semi-finalists Kings Eleven Punjab to complete league table at Eden Gardens tomorrow.

Though results of Eden match do not matter to either side, a win, a defeat or a tie would change mathematical figures for record.

Sourav Ganguly's side had started with a big bang defeating IPL's pre-match favourites Bangalore handsomely in the season's opener in Bangalore on April 18, but Kolkata were the third team to exit from competition after Bangalore and Hyderabad in the eight-team multi-billion rupees championship.

KKR have collected 11 points from 13 plays with five wins, one tie and seven defeats and Punjab's 18 points from 12 outings with nine wins, three loss and two remaining to play.

Top class coaching of Tom Moody, able leadership from Yuvraj Singh and illustrious opening partnership between Shaun Marsh and Kumar Sangakkara have been the benchmark of T20 cricket, the first ever in domestic cricket in India.

Yuvraj' body language craving for win so far has been outstanding and Eden would also be a challenge for him.

Now it has to be seen if Sourav can make a dent in Punjab and take revenge of the defeat in Mohali, home of the Punjab squad.

For the records, Kolkata so far defeated Hyderabad and Bangalore in both home and away plays, and beat Delhi in home. But luck also deserted Kolkata as recognised batting line left them halfway.

As Sourav Ganguly was relying on the 13th match to make a last comeback, rains spoiled the play in Delhi forcing their rivals share one point each. Before this Chennai were declared winners throgh DL method at Eden denying Kolkata a fighting chance.

Writing about Kolkata's batting failure was not new, but still how Mohali's spearhead Sreesanth and VRV do at Eden and how Ganguly, Salman Butt and David Hussey face the duo, has to be seen.

Kolkata's bowling lineup in paper was terrific. But Ishant Sharma and Ahoke Dinda were yet to prove they were match winners.

Shoaib Akhtar, whose incredible IPL debut against Delhi could not help in the susbequent match, was dropped against Jaipur on fitness ground. He is still a doubtful starter tomorrow.

His joining in the first eleven in the last match depended on how be bowls in the nets later today.

Overall, the Eden match was billed as a prestigious encounter for the rivals.
