Bangalore International Airport becomes operational

Bangalore, May 24 : Bringing a new era in the annals of civil aviation history, the new Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) became fully operational last night.

The touchdown of 'IC609' from Mumbai around 10.40 p.m. on Friday signaled the beginning of commercial operations of the BIA, connecting the IT hub to the different destination across the globe.

This world class Airport which was bogged down by delays, was made finally operative to boost the image of a changing Bangalore.

The smooth take off of 'IC 957' Air India Flight to Singapore made Bangalore a global village.

Talking to media, BIA CEO Albert Brunner said that it was a happy movement for all of them who struggled hard to create this world-class airport. Passengers too felt happy at the fine facilities at the International airport.

Eshwar Pal, Air India pilot, said: "It was amazed looking at world class facility at the airport."
