New Delhi, May 24 (UNI) Breaking her silence nine days after her daughter Aarushi's murder, Dr Nupur Talwar today denied any involvement of her husband Rajesh Talwar in the killing and said she would fight till the end to see his name is cleared of the allegation.
Speaking to a news channel, Dr Nupur said, ''I am not going to sit quietly. I am going to fight these charges - for my husband. I am going to fight it for Aarushi.'' Stressing that the killers were still at large, she said it was impossible that her husband killed their only child.
''It is impossible that he killed her. He just couldn't do it,'' and asked whether it was possible that ''any mother will cover her husband who killed her daughter.'' She also told the TV channel that their servant Hemraj took care of Aarushi well and the family had a normal quiet dinner on the night of the incident.
Expecting the truth to come to light soon, a calm and composed Dr Nupur also said, ''I am hoping light at the end of the tunnel,'' adding that ''this was the worst punishment God has given us.'' On the other hand, Dr Anita Durrani, with whom Dr Rajesh Talwar was alleged to be having an affair that led to the murder of the 14-year-old DPS- Noida student, trashed all charges against herself, saying she was shocked to hear all those ''unsubstantiated'' charges against her and her family.
''Everything being talked about me is a lie. Everything is wrong,'' she said.
Denying that they had been questioned by the police, she said, ''No one has asked us anything.'' Even the driver of the Talwars, Umesh, told mediapersons that he had not been interrogated by the police. ''They only once asked my name and address, nothing more.'' UNI AN SKB GC1712
